What is Velashape™?
Velashape™ is a medical device that reduces the appearance of cellulite and safely and effectively re-contours the skin’s surface and body shape. The most commonly treated areas are the stomach, abdomen, love handles, upper arms, hips, thighs and buttocks.
How does Velashape™ work?
VelaShape uses radio-frequency energy, light, vacuum, and mechanical rollers to destroy tissue fat by heat so the fat can be removed naturally by the body. It'll feel like a warm, gentle massage as the applicator passes over your target area. You may feel an occasional pinch during treatment.
The VelaShape has two applicators. One is used to treat large areas for example thighs, buttocks, and abdomen.
Just how do I know if I need VelaShape?
You may benefit from VelaShape if you desire to improve the appearance of cellulite, accentuate the contours of your thighs, saddle bags, hips, buttocks, or upper arms.
People who have shallow metal or conductive implants, rods, plates, or pins in the treatment area shouldn't be treated with VelaShape. This is because the VelaShape process heats skin layers where these devices might be found, which would consume much of the heat. Girls who are pregnant, nursing, or have given birth 3 to 6 months past shouldn't have a VelaShape treatment.
What advantages can I expect?
You can anticipate a smaller circumference and development of the look of cellulite in the treated area.
Many variables give rise to its formation. The appearance of cellulite is changed by diet, body fat, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and how fluids are retained and spread in the body. Patients in clinical trials found that VelaShape treatments enhanced the look of their cellulite, even though the patients didn’t alter their diet or lifestyle. This finding indicates that VelaShape works without diet and exercise, but experts still say that maintenance treatments, healthy eating, regular exercise, and drinking water are crucial for the best results.

What are the dangers and side effects?
The treated area may appear pink and warm for short time after treatment. Bruising is uncommon unless you take aspirin or blood thinners. Bruises resolution in 1 or 2 weeks. A few clients see a blister, burn, or scab which cures in 2 to 14 days with regular use of an antibiotic ointment. A scar may occur in fewer than 1 in 20 treatments.
Prior to treatment all potential risks and side effects will be discussed with you by your Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician.
The treated area may appear pink and warm for a short time after treatment. We recommend 4 to 6 weekly treatments followed by monthly maintenance treatments.
